Hello all, my name is Eddie Iglesias and as most of you know I am the team captain of the Lehman Robotics Team for this year. I just wanted to take a minute to welcome all of you new members to the team as well as returning members.

We've grown plenty from when we started in 2003. From rookie of the year in '03 to NYC Regional Champions in '05. We had awesome success last season and we can only do better this season.

We have a lot planned this year so be prepared team. Your gonna have a lot of fun and learn a lot of amazing things as a member of the robotics family.

I just want to urge you all to utilize this site to the fullest. Please make use of the FORUMS to post any ideas or comments regarding the robotics team. It is a great tool that can benefit the team greatly. Please check the site regularly as we will be posting any new information.

Just to give a little update here's where we stand:
  • For the time being we will be using this site for communications purposes amongst the team only. Unfortunatly we cannot submit this site into the competition because we did not write this script ourselves.
  • The "website team" will be working on creating another site that we can submit for the competition, hopefully on our own domain.
  • As you all know, in order to accomplish our goals, we must find the money to do so. Mrs. Viscovich needs all the help she can get in order to do so. Please remember to give her the list of companies or people to contact as prospective sponsors. This is key.
No money = No robotics team

Please contact me at RoboEd1230@AOL.com if you have any questions. Again, we have a lot in store for this year. I hope you're all ready!

-Eddie Iglesias

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of the members of Lehman Lionics Team 1230 and the mentors and teachers that helped us reach our goal. This sure was one wild ride and it was an awesome display of teamwork and determination. Im really proud to be a part of the Lehman Robotics family and we can only do better next year. Im happy with our performance at the Nationals, especially when taken into consideration the fact that we were in the most difficult division and this being our first year at the nationals. To all those who gave us their support we thank you and hope you will continue to support us next year.

National Robotics Competition Part I

After the Lehman Lionics team 1230 had won the NY First Robotics Regionals in late March 2005 with Leo 3.0 the robot's name, we were granted the chance to go to Atlanta, Georgia for the National First Robotics competition during the time period of April 21 - 23, 2005. Since Georgia was not a nearby state to New York, the Lionics had to leave New York on Wednesday morning with a bus to be able to get to Atlanta in time for the opening day of the competition which usually starts out with the first day being a practice day. We were in team of about 15 members of Lionics 1230 which included students and mentors. We boarded a bus with two other schools from New York City. They are Morris High School from the Bronx and Automotive High School from Brooklyn. We Left New York about 8:30am on Wednesday morning and arrived in in Altlanta, Georgia at approximately 2:00 am Thursday morning which is approximately 18 hours of driving. "WOW!!! What a trip."
Survey
Which of the following will help us the most for next years competition?

Starting to work earlier on the design
Preparing strategies for the game
Organizing better (we are a little unorganized)
Practice as much as possible driving the robot
"NOT to use the wheels that come in the kit"
